How to Use

Cook toor dal (split pigeon peas) until soft and set aside (optional for a richer rasam).In a pot, combine tamarind extract, chopped tomatoes, and 2–3 teaspoons of Zest Right Organic Rasam Powder. Bring to a gentle boil and simmer for 5–7 minutes to allow the spices to release their flavour. Add the cooked dal (if using) and adjust the consistency with water. Simmer for another 3–5 minutes. Finish with a tempering of mustard seeds, curry leaves, dried red chillies, and asafoetida in ghee or oil.Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with steamed rice or enjoy as a comforting soup.Tip: This versatile blend can also be used to flavour soups, lentil broths, vegetable curries, and stir-fries for a delicious South Indian touch.
